El olvido del mar

“El Olvido del Mar” revives the story of one of Spain’s most distinguished yet forgotten scientists, Odón de Buen. Considered one of the fathers of Oceanography in Europe, he was the founder of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography. Actor Carmelo Gómez stars in and narrates this documentary in the first person, which occasionally uses various animation techniques and visual effects. It is a tribute not only to his significant scientific contributions but also to his remarkable life, a reflection of a turbulent era that was silenced during Franco’s regime.
