After the star of the National Classical Ballet tragically commits suicide, Irene is chosen to take her place in the company’s biggest ballet production: Giselle. Now, as the target of jealousy and cruelty from her fellow dancers, Irene finds a friend in the new ballerina, Aurora, a lonely teenager dominated by her mother. Isolated and pressured by the sacrifices required to succeed in dance, Irene and Aurora’s relationship becomes increasingly close and obsessive. Together, they embark on a forward escape in search of themselves.
